Gotta Have Faith by ACHUCKAllen —
Am I the only one that just heard the late George Michael singing the title to today’s blog? Man, I hope not. Well, regardless of George, it’s a true statement. You’ve got to have faith!
In spite of the fact that I am a huge fan of Apple products, I recognize that I may not have always been a huge fan of her founder and brash former CEO, Steve Jobs. Like him or not, he changed the way we listen to music, put our artistic and entrepreneurial spirits to flight, and turned billions of technology imaginations into reality. One of my favorite quotes from the late Steve Jobs is, “Sometimes life is going to hit you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith.”
Faith isn’t a word we need to handle loosely. “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of
things we cannot see.” (Hebrews 11:1)
This daily necessity of faith, that seems to have become the American dream and occasional American nightmare is needed in every single phase of our lives. Especially those of us that wake every morning with dreams of accomplishing great things! Faith in the Divine. Faith in myself. Faith in the joy and comfort of being a child of the Most High God. Faith in family, team, spouses, parents, dreams, and churches.
It’s so easy to look at all of the many things that can paralyze our faith, but don’t give up just yet! Keep your faith. Or find your faith. Maybe you need to discover your faith but never surrender your faith. If you have placed the ladder of your faith against the rock-solid wall of Jesus, the Savior of the world, then stay the course and keep the faith! The most amazing things in life tend to happen right at the moment you’re about to give up hope.
One of the ways that I have learned to Keep the Faith is to find a few “FAITH KEEPERS” in my life. There are, as I count in my head, six people in my life that fit the role of FAITH KEEPERS. You already have a person or two that popped into your head when you read that line.
If not, here is my definition of a FAITH KEEPER – A person that is filled with their own faith. A friend that makes the stakes of our faith to be driven deeper in honest and gracious conversation. The man or woman that can sharpen your faith by simply being around them, and a passionate, often crazy, completely transparent, patient, funny, strong FAITH KEEPER!
Go find your FAITH KEEPERS and cherish the time you can spend with them. If you are wondering if FAITH KEEPERS can handle someone else in their lives, the answer is YES!! Once you discover a couple of FAITH KEEPERS, you will be presented with the challenge of becoming a FAITH KEEPER.
It’s the age-old story. If you need someone in your life,
be what someone else needs in their life as well.
You see, faith is like WiFi. It’s invisible, but it has
the power to connect you to what you need.
Have Faith Today,
AChuck
