Each Friday I offer up at least 4 recommended reads, listens, learnings, gadgets or reviews. These are not necessarily faith-based or church-related but they each have encouraged or helped me in some way. I trust that they might do the same for you! Please feel free to leave your comments or share this 4forFRIDAY!
Here is This Week’s 4forFRIDAY November 24, 2017
A Movie That is a MUST SEE! WONDER, starring Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson
Based on the New York Times bestseller, WONDER tells the incredibly inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters fifth grade, attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time. A great story of redemption, forgiveness, and relationships. Make sure that you see this movie over the holiday season.
A Really Good Read: DRIVE, By Daniel Pink If you lead anything, this is a great read. It will challenge your stereotypes of motivational leadership and sharpen your understanding of leading a team, family or a class. The big concept in “DRIVE,” is that the stick and the carrot may be hurting your leadership rather than helping it.
I was greatly challenged by one of my favorite writers, James Clear. In this article you will discover: Time management can be tough. What is urgent in your life and what is important to your life are often very different things. This is especially true for your health, where the important issues almost never seem urgent even though your life ultimately hangs in the balance. No, going to the gym today isn’t urgent, but it is important for your long-term health. No, you won’t die from stress today, but if you don’t get it figured out soon, you might. No, eating real, unprocessed foods isn’t required for you to stay alive right now, but will reduce your risk of cancer and disease. Is there anything we can do? If we all have 24 hours in a day, how do we actually use them more effectively?

A Quote that I am Pondering from G.K. Chesterton
“I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.”
