Palm Sunday & You

It’s the Sunday before Easter. That’s how most of us see Palm Sunday. Every year, it’s one of those very special days to me. It’s a reminder that I, and maybe you, truly resemble the crowd in Jerusalem some 2,000 years ago.

I’ve had seasons that I’ve welcomed Jesus of Nazareth as though I were laying palm branches down, before Him like a red carpet. And I’ve finished those seasons by shouting crucify Him, with my lack of faith, selfish, sinful actions and lack of gratitude.

Today, simply lay your palm fronds down and welcome the King into your soul. Cling to Him and spend this Holy Week committed to NOT denying Him, and praising Him for all He has done for you. We are reminded that Holy Week is only Holy when we turn our hearts toward the risen Jesus. Let your heart sing and your soul dance as you know the outcome of this week. Let your heart break as you are reminded that it was our sin that placed Him on that cross. And let your voice offer praise that He rolled the stone away and walked alive for you!

From “Hosanna to the King” and “Blessed is He” to “Give us Barrabas” and “Crucify Him,” we can often mimic that same swing in our faith. Let not your heart be troubled…

Under the Same Wing,
