Tomahawk Assad

Tomahawk Bashar al-Assad with ACHUCKAllen

Let me make this clear. If you read yesterday’s post, I am not an expert on Syria, or its present leader, Bashar al-Assad. BUT! I am confident that America cannot, and should not turn her heart or eyes from the crisis in Syria. These desperate people have had no real advocate, until this week.

I do believe that the 59 Tomahawk missles launched on the genesis of the cowardly, evil chemical attacks on their own people was both justifiable and necessary. I’m never pro-war, but after years of tough-talk and pandering for cameras, we must not simply retaliate, but end the mass killings and human rights offenses in Syria.

Again, I do not know what our Commander in Chief knows, and most certainly do not know what General Maddox knows, but I am grateful that we drew a real line in the sand and sent notice that we will not simply ask those committing these crimes to sit in time-out.

If your family lived in Southern California, and Governor Jerry Brown was launching chemical weapon attacks on San Diego, I’m pretty sure that you would want the POTUS to step up to the plate and swing big. I would, and I’m glad he did in Syria.

Now, let’s finish cleaning it up. Let’s not drop in and drop back. Finish it.

For those of you that I just offended, I’m so sorry. I’d be willing to bet the farm that neither of us know what our leaders knew when the decision was made to “light the bad guys up with 59 Tomahawk missles.”

As that great philosopher, Toby Keith once said, “Man, we lit up your world, Like the Fourth of July.”

Praying for Peace in Syria,
