Why in the world would anybody care what I write? That’s the question that kept me from writing for years. Today marks one full year that I’ve been writing this BLOG. When I started, I had a simple goal in mind. I wanted to become a better writer. I had no idea that anybody would take the time to read anything I had to say.
I’m not sure that I have actually accomplished the better writer part, but I did answer the question of who in the world would care what I would write about. Thousands of You! Go figure?
Back to the purpose of writing this BLOG. Like many of you, I allowed fear to keep me from writing anything for years. I allowed the whispers of insecurities to shove the desire to write out of my mind and out of my heart. This daily routine of sitting down and writing has built discipline into my life. It has coagulated my random ideas into tangible thought. It has proven to me that a small commitment to a long view project is critical for success.
Here’s the deal – What is it that is inside of you that you need to commit a little discipline and devotion to? Whatever it is, think big and start small. But whatever you do, stay the course. I’ve had posts that have blown up and I’ve had posts that have totally bombed. But I now have completed a full year and have only missed 4 days. The sense of accomplishment is very cool.
That old adage is true – One year from now, you will wish you started today! Set your corse and reach deep inside you. Then stay the course and let the world see what you are made of. See the long view!

FYI – I get asked the same question by a lot of folks. “How do you plan and decide what you will write about?” The answer: There is no plan. I literally just sit down and write about 20 minutes a day. Whatever gets into my head and heart eventually gets to the keyboard and on to you guys. And THANK YOU for taking the time to read my ramblings and thoughts. I really do appreciate it!
