Have you ever wondered how we make such a mess of this life that was never intended to be this complicated? I have. Maybe it has become more evident as I add grey hairs each minute of the day!

What if we could have a simplistic way of living this life? Wouldn’t we all want to have more margin and more peace in our day to day lives? Yes! Of course we would! Then we have to determine to remove our insecurities that seem to well up as we see “everybody else” live the perfect life and comparing ourselves to them.  We need a heavy dose of authenticity.

I want to invite you to join me as we take up the right to dismiss the insecure life!

Living authentically is living today in the firm belief that God is who He says He is and more. It is investing in our souls and allowing God to take control of our heart without anything above Him. The complicated becomes simplistic as we remove each insecurity and replace it with authenticity.

What does God have to say about living authentically and living a consistent and transparent life? Well, thanks for asking. First…Let you no be no and let your yes be yes. God’s Word encourages us to live in authentic relationship and community with others. Not just others that think like us, or look like us…But true community. He calls us to be authentic and genuine with ourselves and those around us because there is FREEDOM in living the truth.

When we hide our true selves – the GOOD, the BAD, and the UGLY – we are sabotaging our own life from being the person God is calling us to be. Listen! God made no mistake when He made the wonderful you. His plan and His desire for each of us is that we might find loving Him so much that obeying Him comes easily and naturally to us. So naturally that our DNA is supercharged with His blessings. That’s the key to living the REAL DEAL LIFE!

Here are three simple questions to ask your authentic self today:

  1. Is there any area of your life that you are living authentically?
  2. Are you living in any way that is driven to please someone other than the Lord?
  3. What insecurity can you lay at the feet of Jesus and leave it there?

Let this be your prayer today: Lord, strengthen me to live an authentic day, filled with joy. Lift me up to not just show the good, but to show the real me as You work in, through and for me.
