Three Character Exams

I am convinced that we all have exams in our life that are graded as pass or fail. No grading on the curve. No B, C or D. Simply pass or fail

I have passed a few and failed plenty more. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of common exams, but I offer these three as opportunity to pass…at least on these three. Consider this a cheat sheet

  1. When asked to pray for someone, do you respond with yes, knowing full and well that you’ll pray for them, or is that a Christian yes, but never actually going to pray. SOLUTION: Stop right where you are and pray for them. The Divine isn’t measuring the length of your prayer. He is anxious for you to recognize that He is the only one that can actually meet that need.
  2. When you are alone, are your words, actions and attitudes the same as they are when are church? Assuming you are regularly at church. If not, you might have already failed. The number one reason people choose to not to attend church, is church attenders that act like Jesus has never become their priority. Solution: Spend 10 minutes with theDivine every morning. Use Sugar Hill Church’s Daily AHA to make gratitude, scripture and priority a spiritual discipline in your life.
  3. When you have been wronged, do you immediately go into revenge mode or forgiveness mode? I get it! The natural human response is to attempt to reply in anger. SOLUTION: Trust the Divine to correct the injustice or betrayal. This is a logical and spiritual option. If our Creator knows the number of hairs on you head, how much more can He correct the wrong that has occurred. You can do your part by trusting Him to do the work of correction and justice.

These are three of the most common character exams. How would your grades on these exams?
