The Ever Present BUT by ACHUCKAllen

I wish I could – BUT. I wish I would – BUT. I wanted to – BUT. Someday I might – BUT.
The story goes on and on, and then – BUT! Have you noticed how many buts are in your life? My life is filled with buts!

“I wish I would have” are the saddest words to attach to our story. The narrative of our life and many others is that of “would haves, could haves and buts.” Here’s the good news and the bad news. You cannot change yesterday, but you can immediately change today, which can change tomorrow.

The Divine hasn’t left you out of His plan as if you were the one person that Santa forgot. I believe, with all of my heart that once we choose to allow Him to enter and change our lives, He gifts us with something so special that only we can add to His redemptive plan for mankind. Right now, in your soul, there is something that God has gifted you with that He is also calling out of you! It wasn’t there to just be your blessing and your gift. Left hidden within you, it is wasted.

Jesus is so clear about this gift within you! So much so that He told a story about this to make His point crystal clear! in Matthew 25, Jesus tells a parable of a man going on a journey. He calls three of his servants and gives one of the servants five bags of gold, one two bags of gold and one of them, one bag of gold. He entrusted them with His treasure.

You know, when we put money in the stock market or invest in an IRA, we expect a profitable return on our investment. This man expected nothing less. Upon his return, the five bags were now ten, the two bags were four and the one bag was…well, one. The man called the dude with no return from the investment lazy and evil.

So it is with us. It might be tucked way down in the depths of your soul. It might even need to be unearthed, like a treasure hunt, but it’s there. The Divine has started something in you that only He can complete…but you must unlock the jail cell of fear, anxiety, worry, and insecurity and let it out!

What is inside of you that God has birthed and is patiently waiting on you to act on? It’s like reading a book and saying “that is what I wanted to write.” Or hearing a song thinking “that was the song I wanted to sing.”

Open the jail cell that has your gift to this world trapped within you and watch what the Divine does with it when you let it go! Trust the One that birthed it in you to do the impossible with you!
