I often run at a pace that doesn’t allow for the smelling of roses. I’ll bet that you do as well. I once heard that if you really wanted to get something done, ask the busiest person in town and they’ll get it done. Sound familiar?
The problem with that pace of life is that we can become calloused to the needs in this world. We can be blinded to the beauty of this universe. We can be deafened to the sounds of the Divine and His creation. And, we can be so efficient and effective in our field that we are hardened to a blessing when it is received or given.
Don’t read this and think that I’m scolding anybody other than myself! I am often the thief of my own bootlegged blessing. I often run from one thing to another without a care for what’s going on in or around my little world.
A few weeks ago a speaking engagement that I was booked for needed to cancel. Knowing these folks, I totally understood. The challenge was that I had budgeted for those funds. So, taking my own medicine, I immediately asked the Divine to somehow replace that income. Four hours later, I received an email with this as the re: line. “I know it’s last minute, but” The request was for me to be in South Florida on the same Friday that had just hours earlier had been cancelled. I love it when the Divine hears and answers so clearly. This is when Blessings seem abundant.
So I traveled to my new speaking engagement that included 5 hours of teaching. Jenny went with me, and we stole a couple of days on the beach. Now, Blessings have increased into multiplied blessings.
The folks the I was privileged to serve were a far greater Blessing to me, than I ever could have been to them. The Great Multiplier once again showed Himself faithful, generous and timely.
Whatever you are in need of, prepare yourself for Blessings and ask for Blessings. Ask the Divine for His favor and watch Him deliver on the promise that he will hear and answer your prayers. I’ve had far too many answers from the Divine and far to many Blessings received to doubt His faithfulness. And yet, I often worry, fret and grumble in my own tent.
Why? Because I didn’t step into the Divine’s lap, ask Him for wisdom and ask Him for Blessings. I just thought I could fix it, or I could create it, or I could manipulate it to work out my way. THERE IS THE PROBLEM!
That one letter word-“I.”
When we don’t start with the Divine, we have already Missed Blessing #1. When we don’t expect His answer will be best for us, we’ve missed Blessing #2. When we take credit for the answer we want, or don’t learn from the answer He gives us, we miss Blessing #3. And the hits just keep on coming!
It’s almost like we would rather wallow in despair than to celebrate in the joy of the Divine’s hearing and answering the prayers of His kids.
Prepare your heart to be blessed.
Settle your pace to allow time to chat with the Divine and ask away.
Wait upon the Divine’s reply and thank Him for it. He is for you! He loves you. He can’t wait to hear from you and bless you.
Celebrate His Blessings!
Sometimes they are hidden, and often they are overwhelming. Often, they are hidden in our day-to-day life and we take them for granted.
Ask – Wait – Expect – Receive – Celebrate – Thank – Share.
This is the life of a blessed people and it’s available to any Child of the Divine.
