4forFRIDAY by ACHUCKAllen January 26, 2018
Each Friday I offer up at least 4 recommended reads, listens, learnings, gadgets or reviews. These are not necessarily faith-based or church-related, but they each have encouraged or helped me in some way. I trust that they might do the same for you! Please feel free to leave your comments or share this 4forFRIDAY!
Here is This Week’s 4forFRIDAY January 26, 2018
A Great Listen that We Should All Listen to at Least Five Times; Oprah Winfrey interviews Shauna Niequist:
Shauna Niequist, author of Present Over Perfect shares some brilliant simplicity with Oprah Winfrey. Like her, love her or hate her, Oprah is the best interviewer I’ve ever seen. Niequist’s wisdom and lessons learned the hard way caused this weary, broken human to STOP and LISTEN! If you are done with the pace of your life — This is for you!
A Fascinating Film: Mark Felt, The Man that Brought Down the White House
This film is based on the true story of FBI Assistant Director Mark Felt. Felt, played by Liam Neeson would become known as “Deep Throat.” If you are under forty years of age, he’s the guy that funneled the dirt of the Watergate break-in back in 1972. This film is a bit intense but really well done.
A Local Eatery that We Loved: Famous Toastery Suwanee
We tried this place after my good friends, Beth and Lamar Sudderth recommendation. It’s a new favorite, especially after enjoying the Country Benedict and the Avocado Omellete. It’s not fancy, but it’s so good!
Another Really Good Movie: 12 Strong
“12 Strong” is set in the harrowing days following 9/11 when a U.S. Special Forces team, led by their new Captain, Mitch Nelson (Hemsworth), is chosen to be the first U.S. troops sent into Afghanistan for an extremely dangerous mission. This movie is pretty salty and pretty gruesome. When you leave, you might be exhausted, but it’s a great motivational film!
BONUS 4for: Techna Clip –- Conceal Carry Belt Clip:
If you have looked for a lightweight, simple holster option for your every day carry pistol, this is a great option. I placed my right-handed clip on a Ruger LCP .380, and love it.
A Quote that I am Pondering from Shauna Niequist: “When life is sweet, say thank you and celebrate. And when life is bitter, say thank you and grow.”
