That Tuesday

Tuesday, the day the Son publicly taught in the temple for the last time before His death, burial and resurrection. Here’s the thing – Jesus stood His ground. The religious elite were plotting and scheming to remove Jesus. They were powerful. They were frightened and angered that Jesus of Nazareth would not yield His deity to their rules and rituals.
Jesus, in the midst of great pressure and unrelenting attacks chose to spend this battle in His Fatber’ house. He didn’t wilt, he never faltered. He stood His ground and taught of His great love of the Father, His great love for those that were plotting against Him and how He would fulfill the Old Testament prophecies.

When they tried to question His motives, He exposed their hearts. When they attempted to intimidate Him by coming to Him in numbers, He never showed the slightest sign of backing down. They tried to discredit Him, but there were people walking around in the temple who, only days earlier, had been blind and lame – and because of Jesus, they now could see and walk.

By His silence, He would offer up His life for a world of blasphemers, traitors, and liars who so desperately needed to be opposed and upset. This was what Jesus had come to do.

On this Tuesday, stop and offer thanks with a grateful heart. For all He endured on your behalf.

Under the Same Wing, AChuck
